• Loss & Grief

  • Everyone faces grief and loss in their lives.  It is the normal emotional reaction to the conflicting feelings caused by the end of something familiar or loved. Grief is a complex process that is different for each person and each situation.  The loss felt is unique and so is the grieving.

Grieving happens when we experience a death of a loved one or pet, divorce, retirement, moving, financial change, loss of health, legal problems, empty nest, end of addiction, starting school and any other life change.  The process of grief can also be triggered by a loss of trust, or safety, or a loss of control, a loss of faith or a loss of fertility.

Incomplete grieving can occur when we do not have the resources to allow these feelings to surface.  It can become a roadblock to future happiness.
